160amp for Firebird.......good buy ????
I seen this on ebay a few days ago and emailed the company who is making 160 amp altenators for 3rd gen camaro's .....these are brand new not remanufactured ones....the company is in Illinois ( Rockford ) phone number is 1-815-968-2909........they are $110.00 plus cost of shipping...... i'm sure it will fit firebirds also since most items are swappable in them.......give me some feedabck on this altenator for our cars.......thanks

Feedback? Here: never heard of them.
I would be carefull of a 160 amp alternator in the small case. You really need to run the large case alternator (Caprice) for that kind of power output.
The small case has several faults, one major one that comes to mind is the small bearings and lack of good cooling.
If you do get the small 160 amp alt, remember to upgrade the charging cable to at least a 4 gauge. A replacement battery cable works great for this especially if you have a dual post battery.
