MSD install GM dual coil

Hi...

When I installed my 6AL a few years ago the instruction said that I should only connect 1 wire from each of the both contacts on the coil to the MSD box and just cut the other ones( one white and one pink).

When I recieved my 6BTM yesterday and looked at the install sheet I should use both wires on both contacts. Why have they changes the install?

I forwarded a link to this thread to MSD. One of their techs used to post here but I think some rather rude Crane or Jacobs fans ran him off. I'm pretty curious about this as well.

Guys no one ran me off, I just have not had access to the internet here at work. I have had a few people post that fact a few times. You can e-mail me directly at msdtech@msdignition.com with any questions etc. put third gen in the subject line and I will try and do them first as do not anticipate having the net for much longer. As for the diagram they are exactly the same, we up dated the second diagram strictly to eliminate questions on what to do with the second plug. it does not matter which way it is wired both ways are functionally exactly the same. I hope this clears some things up.

Thanks,
Joe
