tach/oil pressure not working

Hi I drive an 1986 IROC-Z Camaro. My question is, my tachometer and oil pressure guages recently stopped working. I think it may be an electrical problem but i'm not sure, they both stopped working at the same time. My oil pressure doesn't even read, it sits well below red. I know the pressure reading isn't correct. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, or may know whats causing it. Thanks

You probably have a defective oil pressure sending unit. Its a small cylinder right near the oil filter. If you replace it, itll more than likely solve your problem.

its gonan be a bitch to replace. you are going to need to buy a sending unit remover tool.. its so hard to get a wrench in there... i bought the tool used it and took it back said it didnt fit.

If your tach AND oil pressure gauge died at the same time then don't go looking at the sending unit. Check fuses first, if all are good pull your cluster out and check the condition of your printed circuit. This plastic sheet conducts juice to your gauges and instrument bulbs and sometimes gets damaged or burnt.

good luck
