hey can anyone tell me how to get the wiring to work properly I am working on a 79 elky I got a wiring harness from a 85 Elky that had a 85 TPI conected to it in it under hood wiring harness was perrty crappy can any one tell me how to wire up the tpi part to the 85 harness ( ALL FACTORY) prpoerly I have the coplete engine and trans, computer that was used and the indash harness 85 elky and the harness for the tpi HELP PLEASE

 

What exactly are you having trouble hooking up?

 

under the hood harness is hacked up trying to find out what is what but mainly the 85 indash elky harness to the 85 camaro tpi harness and the computer that came with it 1226870 I'm not sure if it is the right one I dont feel likespending 400.00 on a harness from painless unless I have to so im going to try to make the existing harness work if possible a wiring diagram would work

 

Yes the 870 ECM is the correct one for the '85 TPI system.
As far as hooking the ECM to your dash....dunno, never did a swap like that.
If the engine harness is all hacked up and missing connectors you might be better off looking on E bay for a harness. I got a complete harness (un-cut), ECM and MAS module there for $100. Shop around, you'll find a deal.

 

The 85 tpi Harness is usable its just who ever owned it and or did thework was realy crappy all kinds of home made relays run here and there I beleve the prevous owner made it harder then it should of been theolny problem I will be having would be the computer plugs
