c board fried??

I recently bought a 91 rs and the kid put an autometer dual gauge pod on and didn't connect the gauges, he has them lit though. He put the wires into the fuse slot with the fuse and i think it fried half of the circut board for the instrument panel. i opened it up and the bulbs were shot for that side, i replaced them and it still does not work. Sometimes the whole dash doesn't even light up at all and sometimes its just dim. i went to GM sport and salvage and they said 65 bucks for a whole new instrument panel, all i need is the circut board but i can't find a place that sells individual ones plus a new dash means odemeter readings are false and i can't hurt my original 42,000 miles, would that even solve the problem??? thanks

There is a place not too far from me. They are an ACDelco authorized repair facility. They do ECM repair, digital dashes and the like for GM. It is H&R auto radio, they are on the web. It's not a small place as the name implies. They take up 4 blocks are are probably the largest GM repair depot on the east coast.
