84 camaro sc auto----headers,holley,elderbrock
1st occurance-70mph right dash turn signal illuminates,engine dies. turn key off, back on-OK
sometimes when trying to start,turn signal light will be on(without activating)engine cranks,-will not fire?
have to keep turning key on/off till light is out

sounds almost like your coil wire is touching a turn signal wire in side the wiring harness under the hood thats about the only thing i could think of why it would turn on your blinker light and kill the coil.
