Painless wiring, Need help

Switching from TBI to TPI, got the MAF +4 extra feel painless wiring kit. OK..
Now when it comes to the wiring on the drivers side, (im still trying to remove the old harness) how do you get the wires out of that black bulk head that must lead into the car?

Does the dash have to be completely removed to because i see something about a check engine light in the manuel

Any advice?
