What is it?

There are a black and a yellow wire running to some kinda sencer on the water neck in my 84' Z28 (305) any one know what the sencer is? i pulled it off while the moter was running (2 min after starting) and the rpms came up about 200.. any ideas what that thing mite be?

It's your CTS. Your ECM uses it to help decide how much fuel to allow the M/C solenoid to meter in. When you unplugged it, you basically made the computer think the coolant was 40 below.

do you know what all is conected to the computer? i want to get rid of it, i know the carb, possibly the distributer? what else?

Thats about it. And you will lose TC lock-up and cruise control, if so equipped.

the cruise control i don't like and have disconected already.. but how dose the tc lock up work?
