Pull-down/Power Hatch
Pull-down/Power Hatch
I am having trouble identifying the problem with my power hatch. It is an 87 Transam GTA. I tested the motor, and it works....the rest...i don't know how to figure out which of the wiring, sensors or relays don't work.
Can anyone help me?

actually the power hatch doesnt have a relay it is wired directly to the hatch, ther is two wires on the switch one to the bat or constant power and the other to the hatch maybe your switch is no good

The relay for the 1986-91 hatch pull-down unit is part of the wiring of the unit. The striker-sensing switch includes all the wiring harness for the entire hatch pull-down unit. The relay plugs into a socket on that wiring harness.
The only difference between the 1986-87 striker-sensing switch and the 1988-91 striker-sensing switch is the connector on the blue wire that plugs into the red with white stripe wire (+12v power source for the pull-down unit).
I stock both versions of striker-sensing switches an the relay.
