Lost power while driving, won't start

Ok here is the situation. Was driving normally, alternator gauge normal. Turned on wipers and they got stuck halfway, at the time I assumed it was all the ice coming out of the car where wipers are and they got stuck. Was going to stop in 2 miles at my job and unstick them, but it was probably just a warning to what happened next. Car lost all power, gas went off, and power steering, I think radio but cant remember. Car lost all power, I glided off to side of the road. Can't restart the car. Battery still has strong power, headlights and other lights are strong. When I turn the key to battery on position though, nothing comes on. Nothing, not the radio, nothing on the dash flashes or comes on like normal, my fan that is hotwired to come on with the battery doesnt come on, nothing. Turn key, doesn't crank, doesnt make a peep, no click. Im guessing since battery has full power, its not the batt or alternator, and since it was running driving normally when it stalled not the starter. Im thinking internal ignition wires or maybe coil? THough even the coil would let the dash stuff come on.....any ideas anyone or similar problems? Thanks.

When it stops snowing and raining, take a dive under the right side of the car and inspect the fusible links at teh starter main power terminal connection. It's possible that one of the two has failed from the overcurrent created by sticking the wipers.

The fusible links are the blue wires. Give them a gentle tug and see if they stretch out the insulation. Burned off insulation is an obvious indication. If the wires stretch, they have failed.

Ok...battery good...starter stuff good.....no power going to fusebox I guess. He said something is burned out and he doesn't have the schematics. Can't believe wipers would burn out something on the car. Please tell me it can't burn out the computer or something?! Hopefully its just some wiring somewhere....Its at the mechanic he couldnt figure it out, now being pushed next store to dealer. Ugh! has to happen right before a big trip Ive been planning for 2 months!
