For those of you who know alarms system well or even a little bit...

I have a subaru legacy('99) and i am at college right now so i dont have time to get this fixed professionally at the dealership so i need ideas...

The heat sets off the alarm! As wierd as that sounds, its getting very warm out and the interior gets hot(black leather) and just sets the alarm off, and people are gettin annoyed here, car has been hit by an egg or two already, dont need that S*** to mess up my car.

Any ideas on what i can do?

I know its not thirdgen related, but its the only place i can get some quick information, thanks

 

iam not the smartest guy in the world, but i dont think heat sets off the alarm. i think it would be better for you to go down to the dealership and ask them whats up.

 

well, it never happens in the winter, and the car is not hit by someone or something else.

It just happened today for the first time cause it was really warm out. I went to the car, opened the windows and left them open and it wont go off...

Only thing that explains it is the interior gettin too hot. But i still may be wrong, but there is no other reason it should be doing this

 

My alarm system would chirp lots in the sun.. I had sent the system back to manufacture. .they looked it over.. and said it was fine.. they recommended re located the shock sensor.. and adjusting the sensitivity of it.. I'll know in a while if this solves the problem.. Hope this helps..

 

Locate the factory horn relay and unplug it when you park. Remember to insert it back into its socket before you drive the car though.
