Push-button starting??
Anyone ever wire up a push-button starter for chevys? The reason I ask is the wiring in my blazer is all screwed up, espacially the ignition. Can I just put a 10 or 8 gauge wire from one postitive terminal (it is a dual battery set-up) to a push button, then to the "S" terminal on the starter?
I already figured out how to use a "run" switch instead of the stock ignition on the diesel, but the starter is what is bugging me. Right now, I have to jump a hot wire directly to the wire coming off of the "R" terminal on the starter, and when I do the starter keeps turning until I disconnect the main power. I really need some help on this one. The starter leads are the same as a 350 starter, with the standard hot, run and start terminals.
Thanks

Yeah, you got it right, we did the same sort of setup on my buddies 79 Z28. Run the wires like you said and just get a push a 30amp push button from an auto store. The push button should keep you from having the problem with the starter continuing to run.
