Headlight Motor/Control Module Woes
Excuse me in advance for long post
Ok long time back one of my headlight motors died because the ground popped out blowing the fuse and shorting the motor. Old motor will not work on good motors socket, so I get a new one at a junkyard, and it works fine plugged into the working motor's socket, but it doesnt work when plugged in its own. So i get the brilliant idea of making my own little wiring job and splitting the good one's harness into both the lights. This worked great...for 2 days, after which something shorted out and now neither work.
I just got a new headlight module from the junkyard, but of course the lights still don't work. When I removed the plastic cover and exposed the module's circuit board, I noticed something interesting. On the board is a plastic cube that has some electronics inside. When I hit the light switch 4 magnetic switches inside the cube go back and forth, so It looks like the control module works. I havn't had a chance yet, but I will soon use a voltmeter to test if the other end of the module is getting power, but in the mean time does anyone have any other suggestions? Im getting VERY agitated
*update*
Checked voltmeter, the switches are moving, but there is no power coming out the other end of the module, so i guess i'll have to get another one.
