You need (most) all the wires from the bulkhead (for lights, coil gauges, etc). All the wiring from the pass side fender by the heater box is ECMand worthless to a carb'd engine, throw it away.

You can also try doing a search looking for "TPI or TBI to carb swap". You should come up with quite a bit of useful info by doing that.

Another way to do it is to go ahead and do the swap, then worry about cleaning out unused wires. You'll want to leave anything running to the starter. Also, you'll want to keep a switched 12 volt power supply for the distributor and an electric choke (if you will be using one). When I did mine, I installed the engine and used what wires I needed to get it running. Once I knew everything was ok, I worked on eliminating and cleaning up what wasn't needed

Deadbird's suggestion sounds right on to me. All that stuff that goes behind the passenger side fender to get around the firewall and then enters the passenger compartment behind the kick panel is ECM. I ended up cleaning those up one by one, since I had used one as a power source. Guess that's one problem with my method, huh?

Hmmm, I didn't think about the fuel pump. I used a mechanical pump. If I'm reading my wiring diagram right, the fuel pump relay does interface with the ECM. Maybe somebody can verify?
