power window question
anybody had this happen before? my driver window (power) goes up and down fine normally, but if i push the button too often, it'll stop. for example, i could roll down my window and roll it right back up and it'd be fine. but if i rolled it down, then up, then down, then up, it would freeze on the way back up. after it stops, the longer i wait before hitting the button again, the more power it seems to have. if i wait 5 seconds, it'll roll it up and inch or two and stop. if i wait a minute, it'll roll up or down about 6 inches or so.
any idea if this is a problem with the actual window motor, or the window switch? either one of those will take a little while to take apart, and if anybody knows what it is, i'd rather not have to take them both apart to find out. seems like something or other is overheating, causing the motor to stop.

The most common item for failure in the power window assy is the motor brushes. However there is a bimetallic thermal breaker incorporated into the motor. If the motor is drawing excessive current it will open the breaker until the thing cools somewhat. If the window rollers are dry try lubricating them. Usually the motor has to be serviced. When the brushes get too low they **** at an angle causing intermittent operation.
