Brake lights and hazzards please help

My brake lights or hazzards dont work at all. I have tested the fuses and the bulbs. I cant figure out what to do and i dont got the money to take it to the shop. I wired a tacometer today, it had to hook to the distributer and had to go up under the dash to hide wires. did i kick off a wire??? something?? please help pleaseeee.

Have you checked your instrument lights?

In some GM systems I've seen the tail lights run through the instrument light fuse.

It's easy to short out the instrument lights when your messing around back there.

If that fuse is blown that would be the quick fix.

However there are also fusable links in the harness running from the front of the car to the rear. Those can also get fried but not quite as easily.

They're not such a quick fix but not the end of the world.

Good luck.

Well first.

Do your instrument panel (speedo, gas etc) backlights light up?

If not.

Have you checked the fuse for the instrument panel lights?

By the drivers side firewall under the hood try moving the wiring harness up and down and in and out, my dome, cig and cluster light did not work at all until I moved these wires.
