trying hook up new battry soon as i try connect battery sparks
hey guys 1985 camaro berlinetta battery been having trouble and died other day i went too hook up new batter today tried connecting postive first and vise versa however as soonn as i go to connect other side just soon as it lightly touches metal part battery sparks all over dont want cause fire is there something other elctrical wrong step dad said could maybe be voltage regulator? its like car is off i even pulled all fuses out but seems like something is trying take juice frm battery before car is even on any ideas? thanks in advance
sparking is normal, don't sweat it.
the reason why it's mainly sparking, is because you're lightly
touching the metal together, that's alot of amperage, and it
will jump the gap. the car pulls voltage from the battery all
of the time, even when you're not running, such as cd settings, time
ECU diagnostics, and a bunch of other stuff.
It will spark, but it's nothing to worry about.
