relay question

hey guys anyone know why the wires at my relays are bare, this is a 87 T/A harness with the square relays, should I upgrade to the weatherpack style, I never see these relays do that at all, so what gives with the early style relays

My 89 camaro came through that way. The fuel pump relay wires are bare about 1/2 inch down from the socket. I have pondered this over many Comforts and I really don't know. The MAF, MAF burnoff, blower motor and fan relays are all the same part number the only different one is the fuel pump and fog light if so equipped. If it were a cost issue one would think that as many of the same would generate a better price for them.
