is MSD everything needed?
is MSD everything needed?
I was just wondering. I know better spark = a cleaner burn, and some MPG's, but has anyone actually seen better power delivery or throttle response from having MSD ign. box and a coil? I have a carb, and I was told that I didn't need the best of the best when it comes to ignition. I just run some 8mm AC Delco wires, and AC Delco plugs with a distributer out of a corvette. I get about 17.8 freeway mpg with a 750 double pumper. Will a MSD box/coil really be worth it?

i had the stock ac delco 6.5mm wires on my car with the orginal plugs and cap and rotor.
i replaced it with
msd 8.5mm superconductor wires
msd cap and rotor
msd gm blaster coil
ngk irdium ix plugs
no box
i did feel a differnce but weather thats from my old stuff being bad or what ever. i noticed that in the upper rpm like around 3800-5200rpm she felt alot smoother and i felt better trottle response along with a nicer idle and quicker start ups.
thats what i got out of it. plus i figured haveing a better igition than stock replacements could never hurt.
it all cost me about $200

I have an MSD digital 6, MSD blaster coil, MSD cap and rotor, and Accel 8.8 wires. The ignition box was the only thing I noticed a difference from, the car would idle a little better and ran a little smoother.
