Sensor/sending unit question

I have this sensor issue, when doing my hedders I went to remove a connector on a sensor and it crumbled in my hand due to heat exposure. I dont' know what sensor it is. Its no my knock sensor thats down below it, my engine temp sensor is on the drivers side near the first 2 plugs, my oil presure I think is right above my oil filter. I'm at work so I can't look now but I think my coolant temperature sensor is up front either near on the front of the intake manifold or by the water pump but I'm not positive4. What sensor is up by the back 2 plugs on the passenger side of the engine?

Yep its your fan switch. Gotta replace it. Just to clear up teminology the thing in your drivers side head is the temperature sending unit, it controls what the temp gauge or temp light on the dash does. The thing on the front of the engine either in the intake or in the water neck is the coolant temp sensor, it is what tells the ecm what the temp is.
