3.1 auto harness to a 3.1 manual car
I already hooked up all the wiring, the only cable that does not fit is the reverse lights going into the transmission, the auto has a 4 barrel plug with 3 wires the manual has a 2 barrel with 2 wires. I cut the cable that goes to the old 3.1 manual harness and matched the colors up and cut two wires on the new cable and soldered it to the new harness, this didn't work. Is this possible and if so what two wire colors do I use. The manual has a beige /w black stripe and cyan wire and the auto has a flat beige and two bluish wires. Anyone know which to splice to what? Thanks.

your automatic 4 terminal plug has nothing to do with the back up lights, run the wires from the manual transmission sensor up through the trans tunnel to wires that went to your automatic shifter, should be a light green wire

Well, I think that maybe you got it backwards or im just reading it wrong, so Im not sure exactly what to do. My car is a manual with a 3.1 Automatic harness now. However, im not sure what the trans tunnel is nor do i have an automatic shifter....
Thanks for the help though.

ok I was under the assumption that you converted your car to a manual transmission, at any rate the 4 terminal plug your messing with is soley for the torque converter lock up from the ecm, you could probably locate the trunk harness under the drivers side kick panel (plastic panel on the left side of your feet on the floor) you can tap into the reverse lamp wires there should be a light green wire, basically just run a ignition feed to the switch and run the other wire to the green back up light wire, you could drill a small hole above your transmission (trans tunnel) then run the wires under the dash.

Ok, now that I got what your saying I understand. However, why is it the manual tranny's reverse lights went straight into the transmission and the auto's dont? Is there any other possible route I can take besides going into other parts of the cars wiring?
