trouble with fuel pump - help!!!
I have an '89 IROC-Z (5.7 L).
The car died while I was driving one day, and I discovered that the in-tank electric fuel pump wasn't working anymore so there was no fuel pressure for the TPI.
I replaced the fuel pump, but the new pump STILL isn't getting power. All of the under-dash fuses check out okay. Could it be something with the fuel pump relay? Where IS the fuel pump relay? How do I go about finding the missing link in an electrical circuit?
Also, the "Check Engine" light doesn't turn on anymore when I turn the ignition on. I can't check for trouble codes on the diagnostic connector either. Could this be a problem with the ECM fuse? Where IS the ECM fuse?
I ran direct power to the "G" terminal of the diagnostic connector, but the fuel pump still wouldn't work.
Please help!!!

check the fuel pump/ecm fuse. its on or near the pass side fender next to the bat in front of the coolent bottle.
if thats good:
pull the connector under the car that goes to the top of the tank and see if you're getting power there or not.
if you are getting power, then the pump you put in is not wired/ working correctly.
if there is no power there, try using a jumper on the connector that the fuel pump relay plugs into.
check the power now. if its there, it was your fuel pump relay.
if you STILL dont have power, start tracing for broken wires....
