2 Amp draw while parked (not running)
I hadn't gone anywhere in my car in a few days and I went to get into my car and start it and the battery was dead. This battery is probably 2 weeks old from Autozone. I had to charge it up to get it started and then I went to AutoZone to have it tested. The battery was good, my alternator charges at 13.60+ and everything seemed fine. We killed the car and it showed a 2.0 amp draw........I think it might have dropped down to 0.7 but I am not sure.
What do I need to check.......the guy at autozone said I probably have a short somewhere.

Yep... likely a short somewhere in the wiring harness. This may not be easy to locate. They do make a short tracer that I have seen, but the kit is not cheap. You might hook up your ammeter in series with the battery and confirm that 2 amp draw (it seems way too high for the little things like the clock, etc. that keep the power on even when the car is turned off). Leave the meter in the circuit and have someone watch it while you unplug each of your fuses, one at a time and see if the current draw drops down. It may just tell you which circuit in the car has the short in it. This will work unless the short is somewhere between the battery and the fuse panel. Electrical problems are usually no fun to try and diagnose. I spent months chasing the reason that an import car (an old Mazda) would have it's alternator just simple stop charging.. a real mystery! It ended up being that one of the wires to the voltage regulator became resistive (big time, reason unknown) when the engine compartment heated up. I just installed a new piece of wire and problem solved! These things can be real bizzare. Good luck! Brad

I'd start with unplugging relays to see if that solves the problem before hunting a mystery short. Could be something like a MAF power or burnoff relay sticking.
