Soldering on wiring harness? Maf wires....
I had to replace the MAF connection and part of the wires with a new MAF connector w/ leads. I was wondering, can I solder the new wires up to the old wires and then use heatshrink wrap to cover the open wires? Somebody at autozone told me not to solder the wires because the resistance from the solder would mess up the signal to and from the MAF and the computer.

I don't think the 'resistance' is going to affect the 5v signal being sent to the ECM. All of the 'sensitive' electronics are contained within the MAF.
I'd also recommend using heat shrink tubing instead of tape but, tape is better than nothing at all. (heat shrink tubing can also be aquired at Lowe's in the electrical isle)
