i hit a curb with my 87 iroc and eversince then when the car is in park the idle is fine but when i rev the engine the rpms drop down slowly, and when i put my car in gear the idle is really rough, i was told it might be the tps needing adjustment because it is out of whack, if i buy a new sensor will this fix the problem or should i just adjust my old sensor, and how do u adjust this if need so, and if the tps sensor isnt whats causing the slow rpm drops what else could be the problem. thanks alot i need help

 

Does not sound like the throttle pos sensor. Did anything in the exhaust system get bent, sounds maybe like restriction. Also on and old cat you may have broken the internal parts loose and sometimes they start to plug up again restricting the exhaust. I would look for physical stuff first, maybe a fuel line got bent. The likelyhood of the tps coming loose is remote.
