wiring gremlins - help needed

alright, well the car isn't an f-body but it is a GM v6 and we're having some trouble with it. My friend and I were swapping dashes on his 97' Chevy Lumina LTZ, the reason we were doing this is because we scored black leather seats from a monte-carlo for a 100 bux, great steal but the luminas interior was still light gray and the dark gray would work much better with the leather. So we went back and pulled the dash from the monte to go in the lumina, after believing we had all wires hooked up properly and the dash re-essembled the way it should have been done we tried to start the car only to find that it has no response. The battery is reading full, and according to an OBDII scanner the car is losing power while the key is engaged, yet the starter doesn't click over. Does anyone have a clue as to what in the electrical system would cause something stupid like this to happen? it's being a bit of a pain trying to figure out, and continuouly retrace wires, we do however have the original dash and all electrical components , would it help to switch all the original components onto the new dash to ensure proper working order.
thanks in advance

ps-i posted this on the v6 board and am now moving it to this board because of little response.

it may be due to some type of anti theft system, other than color, are the dashes the same?, if so, swap all the original stuff into the new dash

yep, dashes are the same...i was leaning towards the idea of security features since the wiring harness was swapped into the new dash, so i guess we'll just have to go through and remove the sensors from the old dash and replace them w/ the new one to get things working right...thanks, hopefully this'll fix the issues.
