vats is killing me
vats is killing me
im trying to replace my steering collum in my 91 bird, but the one i have doesnt have vats. can any one tell me how to get around this? trickster, you seem to know alot. can you help me?

From reading your post, if I'm reading it correctly. You are replacing your steering column with one that does not have the VATS key ignition lock cylinder. If that is the case, why not just take the lock cylinder from your old steering column (provided you still have the key and the cylinder works) and put it in the new one. I will post the information you requested in your e-mail shortly along with some other information.

Sorry to hear that grn420. However, you will notice in my post that I did add "provided you still have the key and the cylinder works" in parenthesis. Did you get the e-mail I sent you with the information? Also a new lock cylinder goes for about $50.00 at the dealership and the keys are about $25.00. yup i got the info my friend. thanks for your help. and yes i notice the " " around if you still have them. lol im downloading adobe as we speak. im thinking about going to a junk yard and getting a collum that is the same year and then go to the dealer ship and getting a key. ive got to do something, i love my car lol
