CS-144 alt swap with a serp setup.
Well a few months ago a friend of mine picked up a bracket for me to swap the bigger CS-144 140 amp alt into my IROC.. Heres the pics.
On the left is the stock thirdgenb serp bracket and the one on the right is the serp bracket outta a 93 TBI 9C1 Caprice
Heh just look how big it is! Hence why I wanted to switch to it.. And it has more output..
That is what it looks like at home. Don't mind the mess in there. The engine bay is one thing I haven't felt like cleaning up at all in that car.
As for the swap.. The hardest thing was swapping out the bracket. One 9/16ths nut and four T45 bolts later it was off.
The only real obsticle was that the wire from the alt that goes to the batt, you have to make the hole bigger for the eyelet.. Even the stock plug for the alt plugs right into it.
