You probably just need to replace it. Sounds like an internal gear might be stripped keeping it from pulling the antenna down and hitting sopme form of internal stop switch.
you can usually pick up replacement power antennas from a major parts store for around $20-40 (usd)
Check out www.autozone.com for prices or if they carry them.
Also, www.crutchfield.com carries replacement/universal power antennas.
Easiest temp solution is to remove the inner fender skirt an unplug the motor or, remove the radio and clip the blue remote power wire. Either will keep the motor from trying to operate and running down you battery.

thanks yeah ill prob do that this weekend see i just got the car from my grandps and that night the **** happened thanks ill try the fender skirt first
All you need is the mast repair "kit" from GM. What has happened is the plastic drive cable for the antenna has broken and that allows the antenna to keep running. The "kit" consists of the top most part of the mast and the drive cable atatched to it, costs about $20 from GM. The plus is that you keep the nice neat appearance of the antenna that goes below the fender when retracted, the after market ones sit on top when down all the way and look like crap (IMHO).

Removing the antenna
1) Disconnect battery
2) Remove the wheelhouse shroud.
3) Once the shroud is out you will be able to see the antenna inside the fender.Remove the top retaining ring of the antenna (be careful not to scratch the paint). I use needle nose plyers for this (points in the slots of the "nut"
4) There are two bolts holding the antenna mechanism to a bracket inside the fender, remove them with a socket + extension.
5) The antenna is "hard wired" to the car and you'll have to cut the wires. I use a 4 wire trailer harness with weather pack connectors and splice them to either end of the cut wires to make it easier to remove it again.
Also, there is the Coax connector on the antenna and it is short (antenna won't come out with it hooked up) It is held on with 2 small phillips screws, remove them.
Repairing the antenna
1) The repair part should come with instructions. Remove the clips from the outer edges of the plastic halves of the unit. Drill out the rivets, and separate the halves by inserting a putty knife or screw driver. 9) Once the innards are exposed, remove old cable and rod, and clean any remains of sealant from the edges.
2) Insert the new rod and cable, and hook the cable to the plastic drum . Apply new grease and sealant, and put the two halves together (this is a little tricky because everything must find its home the the pockets molded into the halves of the casing).
3) Reinstall the spring clips. Replace the rivets with machine bolts, nuts, and lock washers. Test the operation of the antenna before reinstalling, use any 12V source to operate the antenna.
4) Reinstall.
