My 92's 3rd brake light keeps burning out!!!!
Since the car was BRAND NEW the 3rd brake light kept burning out, I have changed it like 5 times. The last 5 years or so I haven;t changed it because all it will do is work for a month or so and burn out again. Can anyone help me out??? I am thinking the bulb might get to hot and then burn out, Is there a bulb that I can stick in there that might not heat up so hot? anyone have this problem?
When you install the bulbs do you use your bare fingers???
These are halogen bulbs and the oil from your skin causes hot spots, resulting in burnsout. Just a thought, I have had only3 or 4 failures in 16yrs.

Switch to LED's lamps! Using O-rings to slip them in the holes nad the original electrical strip to power them, worked pretty well on my car and the LEDs are a fraction of the cost of those weird little bulbs... I'm working on a new version with more lights and will do a photo-guided thread soon!
