Cooling fan mystery and demons
Cooling fan mystery and demons
here we go again!!..I have a 1986 Firebird with a V-6.2.8L..I replaced the cooling fan relay on the firewall ( there is only one there right?)..I replaced the ECM and had it reset to the cars system...ok..good so far..Fan cooling switch on the passenger side was replaced..we're cookin now..the coolant temp sensor in front by the thermostat was replaced..and of course the one temp sensor..all done so far..now the mystery..Fan wouldnt come on at all with all these things replaced.oops..it comes on with a/c on..movin on..we took off the cap to the coolant temp sensor by thermostat and presto..the fan comes on..and no fire at the wires.weird huh..now the demons..are there other relays or switches that i am missing?..My manual talks about a redundant fan switch..which is a relay, that works, when ECM fails..and turns on fan..again, Am i missing anything at all under that hood, that would stop fire going to the coolant temp sensor?..If so, where is it located exactly?
