Tail light bulbs (2 not working) 82 TA
Tail light bulbs (2 not working) 82 TA
Hello,
I don't know where to begin, I have two rear bulbs that won't work in the tail lights of my 82 Trans Am. Now I've noticed that the bulbs (2057's) have two contacts on the bottum and the socket on the car has two prongs to line up to. On the two bulbs that won't work, there seems like there is a prong missing- but I went to the wreckers and all other Trans Am's were the same way.
Maybe it's just that common of a problem? Or any other suggestions?? What about that tan colored gue that is in all the sockets?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Steve

sounds like those are the wrong bulbs for the sockets. check the socket of the bulbs that don't work. are they 2 prong or 1?
If the bulbs and the sockets match up then get your test light out and start troubleshooting the wiring.
the tan goo is di-electric grease that inhibbits corrosion. It won't affect the light working or not.
