wiring up a manual switch to a power window!! please all input needed

ok i got a new door and it has power window and i dont feel like swapping out the manual crank from my old door... that and i love switches ..

so now i bought 2 different switches and cant wire them up coorectly...one a 3 prong and the other is 6

i figured out that for the window to go up or down all you have to do it power one of the iwres and ground the other(ther are 2 wiers coming from the motor).. then to get it to go the other direction, just reverse the power and ground...

for some reason this concept escapes me when using a switch.
i've tried everything and the same result i can always get it to go up or down but never both.

someone please let me know what switch to buy (from radio shack i'm not going factory) and how to wire this basturd up please thanx!!

From: out of my mind; be back in 5 minutes....
Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: Internal Combustion
Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
You'll need a double-pole, double-throw (DPDT) switch capable of handling at least 30 amps...those motors can take a lot of current sometimes.
It'll have six prongs; you'll have to make an 'X' using wire across the four outer terminals - top left to bottom right, and top right to bottom left. Off either pair of top or bottom terminals, you'll run the wires to the window motor. Then to the two center terminals, you'll attach your ground and power feed.
Make certain you use a fuse, or preferably a circuit breaker inline with the power feed to the switch.
