Wacky voltmeter-reads too high?
Hey guys, anyone ever see a problem with a factory 87 Z28 voltmeter reading way too high, mine shows like 18 volts even though I measure around 14 volts with a digital multimeter, this just kinda happened one day........thanks in advance.....

my volt meter reads to low..
reads around 8-10 volts (guess) but i know i'm getting the full 13-14 volts cause i had autozone test it as well as I with my own multi meter...sometimes if i tap the dash, it will shoot up n read what it should be reading...
crappy chevy gauges!

If your gauge is sticking, most likely you need to take it apart and put some lightweight, non-detergent oil on it (can be aquired from a locksmith). If it's reading high, pop the needle off and 'recalibrate' it to the voltage shown by an external multimeter.
