hooking up 84 camaro non a/c heater box...
i really need some info on how to wire up an 84 camaro NON a/c heater box up to my 91 camaro w/ a/c. i already took out all of the a/c equipment and bolted the "new" box in but i left the a/c wiring harness. ovbiously its not as easy as just plugging it up. i need to know which wires to splice and hook up to the prongs on the NON a/c box.
i used this diagram

with the other diagram and worked them together to get everything to work out.

I just did this with my 87 the other day..
The A/C model has a four speed blower and the heater has a three.
Heater has a three wire resistor
Orange wire=high fan speed
lt blue wire=med speed
yellow= low speed
A/C model has a four speed resistor:
orange:high fan speed
lt blue:med 2 speed
tan:med1 speed
yellow:low speed
I hope you have the heater style resistor and plug-in......
So you can cut off the heavy purple wire, unused yellow wire and relay and A/C resistor and splice oranges together, blues together, and yellow to tan.
So then when you turn on your fan the first low position (it has the little picture of a fan blade)on the controller will be "off" now, and the next three settings will be low, med, and Hi dont forget the ground wire and the radio noise suppresor
