Tach reading too high

Well ive noticed my tach would read 3000 in drive while cruising, so i had a autometer tach with shift light, We installed it today, low and behold my stock tach was off almost a 1000 rpms, it read 4500 when i was really at 3500. Now it takes alot to hit 4500

My tach was off too , only 300 to 500rpm.
The resister pack was bad.
I had my tach & speedo overhauled and the speedo converted to a 145mph and all the bulbs replace for $145.00.
and its dead accurate now.

Where did you have it overhauled at? My tach is way off and it is driving me crazy, but I like the 145mph speedo and refuse to go back to the 110mph cluster!
