VSS option codes

Help! VSS option codes
The RPO label is not in my car anymore (damn the previous owner(s)! I need to replace the VSS in the trans and the parts store asks what option code? D9A D9B or D9E? Is this for 80 mph 120 mph or 140 mph speedo?
I have a 87 GTA 5.7, the old sensor is not there it was removed by the previous owner when he put in a cable speedo. The RPO translator on this site doesent list specific info. I am trying to get the stock cluster with the 140 speedo to work but in the mean time I get a code 24 and this affects EGR and fan control. Is there anyplace I can look on the trans? does any one know what the differences are in the option codes am I right about the speedo options?
(same post as in transmissions)
