wiring a motor

i am switching mtors from a 2.8 multi port to a 5.7 carb and i was wondering how i should hook up my wires to the motor. they appear to be diff connectors, so would i splice the old ones and put the connecters i need on? do i get them at an auto parts store? which wires do i need hooked up

i searched for a sensor topic. and i couldnt find much so which sensors do i have to have hooked up.

There are not any sensors that you're going to need with the exception of your gage sending units. This will be your coolant temp and oil pressure gages. Aside from this, you are going to need to wire your electric fan to a relay and ground that relay open via a fan temperature switch in the passenger side head. You will need switched power for your coil, and of course the alternator and starter leads. A choking system may be necessary depening on your carb. You'll need to leave the climate control wiring intact. You will need to locate the tach wire and place it in the tach output on your vaccum advance distributor. There may be a tech article on this already somewhere...start doing some searching.

no.. not any easier... but it will make it get really hot when you're idling in traffic and not much air is moving thru the radiator.... it'll also cost you horsepower..... and overall, is less efficent.
