headlight re-wiring

well I hope that i'm not blasted for this. It seems that if someone new to these pages asks a question that has been asked before a war of words soon follows. What I want to do is re-wire the headlight motors on a 86 trans am to the headlight motor on an 89. the 86 can't be rebuilt as far as I can tell, and the 89 can. Has anyone done this? Any help would be great. Thanks, Brannon :lala:

I actually have a brand new headlight motor for an 86. I don't know what side you need, but the one that I have is for the passenger side. It is brand new and never installed. This part has been discontinued. I bought it from my local gm dealer but it turned out I didn't need it, I just had a small wiring problem (I really should have looked first), and being that it is discontinued, I cannot return it. I spent like 180 bucks on it. I would sell it for a loss if you want it.

well I have both of these cars and I like the 89's design better. I have rebuilt the motors on my gta and doing both only cost me about 20.00. They just seem more serviceable. from what I understand the only thing that usually wears out on these are the nylon bushings, and mine were in crumbles. but thanks anyway. Brannon
