car alarm remote wont work

Untill your right ontop of the car and sometimes it wont work at all.
Maybe the battery is weak from sitting?
I happends with both remotes. I installed the alarm myself, i know i did it correct since this wasnt my first.
The remotes worked fine the first week i had the alarm in but now they dont.

Any ideas? Please!

Is there an Antenna? Mabey it's in the wrong place, or the wiring got loose. RF Transmissions are extreamly Fickle w/ things like that.

I found out the problem last night. Turned out the ant wire had a breakage under the plastic coating right before the wire went into the alarm brain. What are the chances of that?!
It was driving me nuts, It sucked having to open the door with the alarm going off and use the valet mode.
