Gauge fuse blows (Did search)
So i got a few ideas from other posts, But I'd like to post my problem so someone might be able to identify it for me.
My engine is 350 Carbed, been swapped, not by me. Tranny swapped (not by me)
Anywho, whole car works great, nothing wrong, no warning signs.
I'm leaving work at about 1:15AM this morning, and im waiting for my car to warm up, I have lights on, thats it. I had to move it out of the way for a sec, so i put her in reverse for a couple feet, then pull forward about 20-30 feet, come to a stop, put her in park. Then i hear her about to stall, so i rev her up a little bit to roughly 2000 maybe 2500 and then that annoying alarm thingy when u open the door starts going off, so i look at my Gauges and they are just frozen, gas tank is frozen at 1/2, RPM is frozen at 2000.
I checked the gauge fuse, its blown, so i pop another one in there. Turn the car on again, pop. it blows. So I head home, grab the nearest fuse, (20) turn the key to the on position, POP! goes again.
Nothing has changed since I drive her everyday, the only difference, is tonight it was colder than usual..
Anyone help me out?? I'm 100% electronicly retarded. If you have any ideas, I'd like to try em out before I pulll my dash apart, I dont really have time to pull her apart, shes my daily driver...
Thanks everyone

SO i popped the hood, and every wire I could see I checked. All of them seemed to be fine. All the lose ends were taped and tucked back. I pulled out my gauges one by one, and still no worky.
I grabbed a little light to put in the fuse spot, and the light is constantly on. I jiggled wires and tugged and pulled, the light goes on once I turn the key on. Other than that it SEEMS fine. The gauges move a little tiny bit once i turn the key on, and thats about it. I'm completely lost, My dads a mechanic, and he couldn't figure it out either.
Could someone kinda give me a list of what to check????
Thanks.

ITS FIXED!!!!!
Heres what I did, AFTER searching all the wires and all the junk, I pulled the fuse box down to have a little look see.
Jiggled a few wires and pushed down on a few, and I happened to notice a few hairs of a wire were shorting across, pull the wire out, twist em back together, put back in. and PRESTO! everything is working, I guess sometimes the easiest thing to do is the first thing to do

Glad you figured it out.
My car just started blowing the gauge fuse left and right. And its hell trying to track it down!
I also did a search for "gauge fuse" and read just about everything that came up.
A few things I've tried so far.
The EGR. Nope, thats not my problem. The connector is dry, the wires look good, and they are still pliable, no hard or stiff at all.
However, I can't track anything down because I don't have a wireing diagram. If anyone knows where to find the diagram for the power block I'd love for them to post it.

go to autozone.com Click on REPAIR INFO, then VEHICLE REPAIR GUIDES, Select your year, make, model, then click on CHASSIS ELECTRIAL, then select your year and engine, this sghould pop up the chassis electerial diagram for your car. You can either print it or save it to disk.
Or maybe this link might work.. takes you right to the wiring diagram page.

Fixed it! Turns out when the transmission case was painted some of the paint must have gotten into the connector! We disconnected the TCC solenoid connector from the transmission and it didn't blow fuses anymore.
I'm gonna have to pull the pan and get the plastic part out then clean it. Anyone know where I can get a new one? I won't have TCC lock-up until I fix that connector and it may affect my emissions test.
