loose wiring stops stereo sound

i have an 88 gta with the radio controls on the steering wheel, i have an aftermarket kenwood cd player, and whenever the steering wheels moves the cd player still plays but no audio is heard in speakers. any help would be greatly aprreciated

that really shouldn't affect that because the radio control in the wheel is a seperate harness from the the speaker harness . there should a blue plug for the rear speakers (dk.blue=r+ ,lt.blue=r-,brown=l+yellow is l- ),a white plug (lt.green= r+, dk.green =r- ,tan=l+ ,gray = l- ). the yellow is also an ign + and the gray is dash lites(dimmer ) + , brown is illumination+ for the factory radio display in other harnesses/plugs coming into the factory radio. if the plugs are cut off and you're not sure which wires are which , make sure you verify this with a meter. there are 2 of each wire and as you can see, they do very seperate things.pull your radio out if you can, check this first , also if the speakers were replaced and new wiring was run , check around steering column forwires that are pinched by the steering column . if this is not the case then there is only one other thing that could be , but i doubt that is the case . hope this helps
