Light bult holders.

IM not sure I follow you about those that are replaceable and those that arent. Perhaps I should look at it before asking this question (im still at the office). They are not expensive I hope. Which is which? I remember seeing green plugs, and black plugs.

What I am talking about is that some of the early models had sockets that if a bulb burned out, you just pulled the bulb out of the socket and put another one in. In later models, they were designed to replace the bulb and socket as a unit. In other words, the socket is not re-usable and has the words "REPLACE ENTIRE UNIT" on the base. The PC161's sockets are black, PC168's are blue, and PC194's are gray. The ED 22 sockets are green and bulbs can be replaced in them.

You can find the empty sockets in some auto parts stores, they come two to a pack. I went to a couple of the local junkyards and picked some up for a few bucks. BTW, the old style sockets are completely interchangable with the new style. No I don't know the part number for the PCB tape, but I can find out tomorrow when I visit my local source of recycled components. Also, I forgot to mention that you might have some missing because the system they went to in your car is not being used. Like the shift light, the choke light.

Alright... this is what I see on the console...
For the lights, their is a variety of black and green sockets (and one blue socket in the left corner... the PCB has various numbers on it. Not sure which would be the part number though.

Okay,
I have some good news and some bad news for you. The good news is that the part number for the PCB tape is 2504 5480 (the number was changed by GM). The bad news is that it has been discontinued and is no longer available. Time to hit the junkyards if you need one. If your light bulb sockets do not have "REPLACE ENTIRE UNIT" on the base of them in white letters, then you can just pull the old light bulb out and put a new one in and press on about your business.

A bummer that truly is, but not surprising though at the same rate. The break in the PCB is small, so I am going to try to fabricate a better solution for it. I live in a desert town and although thirdgens are more than plentiful in junkyards, most of them have been sitting their for an excessive amount of time and are probably in worse condition. Wasn't their a tech article about this ?
Did your reference say whether or not the little bulb holders were still available ?
I appreciate all the time and effort you put into finding this information for me trickster...

They are still available through some auto parts stores. However, I would just go to a junkyard and pull some out of a junker. A little cleaning with a toothbrush and they are good to go. The same goes for the PCB tape. Take one out and lightly use a toothbrush on it to remove the heavy stuff and then use a soft cloth to wipe it down with isophrophyl alcohol.
