Car: 1991 Firebird
Never heard of this, please help.

Check this out, I just bought a 1991 Firebird v6 3.1 w/ttops with 185k miles on it, but runs like champ for $400, she was the original owner when she bought it in 1990. Now, theres a few problems with he car, trunk pulldown doesnt work, driver window doesnt work, oil pressure guage doesnt work, all not a big problem, what stumps me is that at night, when the headlights are on and you step on the brake,,, ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON!!! I'm guessing its a short or it has something to do with the other problems, i dont know, if anyone ever heard of this, please give me some reccomendations on what i could do, thanks for everyones help in advance! Peace, Joe

I'm surprised Trickster hasn't jumped on this one yet, lol. He's always good with electrical problems. If you don't hear from him, try private messaging him.

Until then, keep a map or something handy, so when you brake and the lights come on, you can pretend you're trying to read the map.

It could be worse, I once knew someone whose horn always honked everytime he'd turn the steering wheel enough to turn a corner, LOL. Now THAT got attention--and not always good attention either!

Check ALL of the fuses, don't just look at them, put an ohm meter on them.

The lights the prev owner removed could be the problem. GM wires its circuits kinda funny. If a fuse or bulb blows in one circuit it causes other circuits to act funny. With the lights having been removed it may be causing your problem.
As an example... a friend had a 77 T/A and the cig lighter fuse blew, and the interior lights by your feet came on....dimly, when you opened the door the dome light came on but not the foot lights. He replaced the fuse and everything worked as it was supposed to.
