coil keeps dieing

Monday my car ran perfect. Tuesday I go out to start up the car and it won't start. It just turns over and over but won't fire up. I tested the coil with the screwdriver to metal method, no spark. So I figure the msd blaster coil is bad. I go to advanced and get a cheap 15 dollar gp sorenson coil, put it on and the car starts right up. The car ran all day yesterday fine with the coil. My gf goes out today and the car starts right up for her first turn of the key, she takes it to the doctors with no problems. When she comes out the car will not start again and has the same exact problem. I just got back from bonezone with a new coil, popped it on and the car started right up again. Any ideas on why the coil keeps going out?

I doubt if it's the coil. Possibly a wiring issue, moving things around may make it work. It's pretty hard to damage a coil. Unless you have really bad luck I'll bet it fails again.

You stuck the screwdriver in the center post and was able to get the other end to metal?
I seriously doubt a failed coil.
