trying to figure out what controls my fuel guage on my 91z. it quit working after the new walbro 340 pump was installed.....by working i mean it works, but you can't trust it.....very iffy where as it use to be dependable before the swap.

The float arm on the sending unit might be hitting on the filter sock at the bottom of the pump or the arm might be bent.

I know......and you have my heartfelt condolences, I went through this twice when this expert mechanic (EX) friend replaced a pump for me and had the sock turned wrong. Not only that, he cut the large o-ring on the sending unit.
