Looking for help with Keyless Entry
Hello,
After having my drivers door lock cylinder completely seize up on me, I decided it is time for keyless entry in my 86 TA. I have no interest in remote start, alarm, etc.
Here is my situation: When I bought my car, I had a Clifford Concept 100 alarm installed in it. The alarm was very glitchy, it would go off randomly, but yet sometimes when opening the door with alarm on, it wouldn't even go off. Long story short, it got ripped out pretty quickly.
Now, I have a fair bit of experience with electronics, a little bit with wiring, but none with car alarm. My dad is old school, so he just chopped the whole alarm out. Right now it is sitting on my floor with about 30 wires and sensors coming out of it.
I am willing to learn whatever I need to learn to do this project. Like I said, I have no alarm experience, and only want keyless entry. With the hardware I have already, is it possible to wire up my car with keyless entry and remote hatch release? If anybody could give me some good advice and point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.
I downloaded the manual from the Clifford site, but they don't have a wiring diagram for this model. Is it possible to have the keyless entry and hatch release without the alarm being hooked up at all? Thanks again,
-Dustin

I've put lock motors and remote on a couple cars. Find all kinds of stuff on Ebay really reasonable. I've bought the electric lock kits on there and a remote kit from JC Whitney for a couple cars. Work very good. Check Ebay first.

Ok, I happened to find both the owner's guide and install guide for the Clifford Concept 100 on the directed.com website. My question now is, how do I wire up the alarm to have keyless entry and hatch release? Do I need to have the alarm hooked up to just have keyless entry, or is it not possible with Clifford alarms?
The install guide seems to be missing a bit, all references to door locks say to "refer to other parts of this manual" which don't exist.
