won;t go over 10 1/2 volts
ok so i just got my car back got a new battery in it and the old alternator what shot so i got a new one too. drove it today and the thign won;t go over 10 1/2 volts. i'm not sure if its just the guage tha is maybe messed up or if its actually not charging enough. i'm goign to put a volt meter on it to check but does anyone else have any idea's on why it is doing this

Go out to your car and with it running, use a multimeter set to Volts Direct Current (VDC). Measure the voltage at the battery, it should be somewhere around 14.5 volts if the alternator is working properly. If you can, have someone run the engine up to about 2000 RPM's and hold it for about 20 seconds while you measure the voltage at the battery again. You should see a increase in voltage to the battery. If this test is good, you might have a bad voltmeter. Try tapping on it and see if it goes up any.
