Cigerette Lighter Wiring??

I've ran some searching and came up with nada... maybe I wasn't searching for the correct thing... who knows.

I got my 4th gen console in, a lot less work than I had antisipated it being. Only one small problem though... How do I wire up the lighter? I need one to work for my radar detector.

Any help on the subject is MOST appricated!!

(And if there's a thread on here somewhere that I over looked, a link would be helpful as well...)

Or even how to pull my existing 3rd gen lighter out and put it into my 4th gen console? I've tried, but had no luck getting it to budge and was hoping to not completely destroy the entire console!

My only suggestion is to find a cigarette lighter wiring from a 4th Gen in a junkyard, and use that to splice into a 3rd gen..........I have a 4th Gen console as well with the extra cigarette lighter (2 more actually) and i never found a fesible way to wire them to make them functional.......

If this is a permanent radar detector you are keeping in the car, you can always hard wire it to the car and just use a switch to turn it on and off.

simple 12 volts and ground, thats it, the orange wire that comes from the 3rd gen lighter is 12v, and the black is ground....
