speedo in my firebird doesnt work after removing the needle, but after taking the mechanism out of the cluster it looksl ike it works with a magnet and the more power that goes to it the more it should go up, but it just doesnt

is there anyway to fix this, and would i be able to take anoter cluster apart carefully and replace the speedo thingy with this one ?

There should be a coil spring with a small bar on it attached to the needle post. That little bar fits in a slot and holds the coil in place. It can be replaced if you need to do it.

everything is in place and looks to be good, and it looks like it should function properly...
but when i put it in my car, it jumps to 65 mph when i start the car, goes down 5 when i put my foot on the brake, and then slowely creeps up to 100 mph

i know that it is this thing becuase i had a extra set of guages that was not touched and it worked, i just want to get the 140 mph speedo working...

i had 3 clusters 2 140's and a 120

i have wrecked one of hte 140's thing and thne tried to transplat the speedo assembly from the 120 and that does not work also, i wanted to use the first 140 because it had the correct miles for the car, and the other one has like 249K on it

this is really confusing me
